Discuss your projectWhat hot tapping does
Hot tapping creates an opening and branch connection with the qualified pipeline still pressurized and operating. A typical setup combines a tapping fitting, an isolation valve, and a tapping machine selected for the line and connection geometry.
The inputs that shape the method
Pipe material, outside diameter, wall thickness, operating pressure, temperature, media, connection size, access, and required orientation all influence the fitting and machine plan. Existing coatings, reinforcement, corrosion, and concrete-cylinder construction can add further controls.
How the cut is controlled
After the fitting and valve are installed and tested, the cutter advances through the open valve. A wired pilot drill retains the coupon. Once the cut is complete, the cutter and coupon retract beyond the valve gate so the valve can be closed and the machine removed.
Where technical review matters
Published capability is not an automatic project approval. The actual line data, condition, media, equipment configuration, fitting design, procedures, and site controls must be reviewed before work is scheduled.
